FCE Courses
The main mission of FCE courses in Prague is to prepare participants for the FCE exam. The assessment of the FCE course relates to each of the four types of skills, i.e. reading, writing, listening and speaking. The grammar (Use of English) is a further section of assessment.
FCE courses are held in the months preceding the tests, which the British Council holds in March, June and December. At London Institute Prague the FCE courses take place twice a week on different days. The length of FCE courses is normally 12 weeks. After your preparation, you will be well prepared for the exam and most students go on to take the test.
FCE courses are up to individual form- class sizes are between five and 11 students. Totake advantage of more individualized approach that can bring more, we encourage you to register for the morning sessions.
Cambridge FCE is one of the most internationally respected qualifications. The certificate is in demand by employers and foreign universities as proof of study and level of your English. FCE is applied in business and industry, for example, for workers in customer service or administrative work in banking, airline, catering, etc. represent the "more advanced" level of FCE (internationally for category B2) and requires knowledge of all language skills.
FCE (First Certificate in English) consists of:
- Reading (1 hour)
- Writing (1 hour and 20 minutes)
- Use of English (45 minutes)
- Listening (approximately 40 minutes)
- Speaking (approximately 14 minutes)

Where can I take the FCE exam?
FCE can be taken not only in Prague, but also in other places in the Czech Republic (detailed information can be found on the official website of the British Council).
